Richard Platt, FCCA, Principal

After graduating from the University of Warwick, Richard began his career in York then moved to London before settling in the Eden Valley. With over thirty years' experience in practice, he is keenly interested in the growth and development of family businesses with particular emphasis on strategy and succession-planning. His personal interests include charitable activities, driving, walking and all things Italian.

Ian Thompson, ACIS, Practice Manager

Ian, our most recent addition to the team, is responsible for practice administration, IT development and marketing. He is involved in accounts preparation and compliance; payroll support; tax compliance and planning. A qualified company secretary, Ian became an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in June 2008.

Joanne Batey, FMAAT, General Practice Assistant

Joanne, one of our most loyal members of staff, is qualified as an Accounting Technician, responsible for accounts preparation; personal tax compliance; and trust taxation compliance.  Joanne was elected as a Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in February 2009.

Helen Gardner, MAAT, Administrative Assistant

Helen is PA to Richard, helps with practice administration and is responsible for customer service. She is a qualified Accounting Technician.

Tony Graham, Accounts Senior

Tony, our longest-serving member of staff, is responsible for the production of financial accounts and management accounts for sole traders, partnerships, family companies and charities.

Sue Walters, VAT Assistant

Sue joined us in 2005 and helps us to provide a tightly-managed VAT compliance, support and record-maintenance service to registered businesses, including farmers, hairdressers, car-dealers and retailers.
